OK, guys, I've got to keep it brief. I'm on a road trip to college, and it's been a long freakin' day.
But I have bad news and good news.
The bad news? I'm shutting down this blog, and will never post on it again.
The good news? You can still pay attention to what I'm doing in my college life, along with the lives of my fellow nerdy friends!
How? We're starting a mutual vlog channel, aptly titled The Mindless Ramblings of the Nerds. Each weekday (and possibly weekend day), we'll be reporting about our lives and sharing wisdom and humor to one another (and anyone who cares to tune in).
How can you find this channel? That's easy. The final post of this blog will have the link to the channel. I'll still be reporting on Thursdays, as I've always (supposed to have) been.
This is a very big change, but I think it's for the better. Vlogs will be way more entertaining, and you'll still get the same wit and humor and fun...multiplied by at least 4, if not more.
So stick around and stay tuned in the coming days/weeks to find out how you can access...
The Mindless Ramblings of the Nerds!
Starring Sarah, Adam, Clayton and Cam (among others).
COMING SOON
The Mindless Ramblings of the Nerd.
These are the thoughts and accounts of a random, crazy nerd from Denver, Colorado, USA, North America, Earth, Solar System, Milky Way Galaxy. For all our extraterrestrial viewers, I recommend you don't waste time coming here. You won't find much intelligent life...

The Nerd has taken an impromptu summer break.
Well.
This has been really sad.
I've not made a single post since July. FUCKING JULY.
Seriously, if anyone out there still has faith in me after all of this, I'm gonna be shocked.
But here's the good news.
Starting on the 1st of September, regular posting WILL resume.
Because I'll be in college and will need scheduled weekly activities to stay sane.
So if anyone out there still cares to know what's going on in my life and in my head, then tune in next month and onward.
Or go find someone else as entertaining. (Good luck.)

The Nerd Finally Does Something Right Concerning the Blog!
Hello, long-awaiting reader(s)! (I know there's at least one...maybe.)
I just realized it's Thursday, and that means it's POSTING DAY! So let's get right down to it.
I'm in the state of Colorado for 5 more days before heading down to the Lone Star State to work for the remainder of the summer (Money for college! Yay!) and stay with my mother, who is also getting married in about half a month (Congrats!)! Life's been pretty radical...I've been hanging out with friends, going on trips (Ironically, one to Texas, mainly its areas rich in roller coasters, and another to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, of "The Shining" fame.), and having a whole lot of fun with people I love. Who could ask for more?
I am single again. I'd rather discuss the why's or the how's or a whole lot of it. No, it isn't your business. What I will say is that the other party and I are on relatively good terms, given the circumstances, and in many ways, I think it's for the best. It is now my undying goal to stay single until I find myself in Boston for college, because with all the travelling and the lack of staying in one place for long over the summer, it's just plain not a good idea to get involved until I'm glued down somewhere on the map.
If you're a nerd, you will love this. If you aren't a nerd, you will be confused, and will quickly realize this is a parody of Dr. Dre's "Kush" (I heard this version before the original...I am a nerd, and I am awesome.)
If you've yet to hear the latest single from The Lonely Island or see the video, then I suggest you find it right now in another tab, then come back to this picture, and it will all make perfect sense.
Yes. That's William Shatner. And yes. That's Chris Pine. And yes, they're both Captain James Tiberius Kirk of the Starship Enterprise, and yes, they're arm wrestling, and yes, according to that logical thread of remarks, Captain Kirk is arm wrestling himself. And yes, that's pretty damn awesome.
"If you ever get mauled by bears, I hope they stay away from your face, because I think you're cute."

The Nerd Issues His Final Ultimatum to Himself Regarding Lack of Posts.
OK, I've been fucking awful at posting on the blog. Seriously. I'm ashamed of myself.
BUT!
I have invented a new system which makes everything simple for me and allows you, the reader, to still enjoy most of the features that you've come to love from the blog.
So here's how the new, improved, simple design of The Mindless Ramblings is going to work.
Every Thursday, I will create a weekly posting. This posting will include the following:
Recap of important things in my life
Romance Paragraph
Funny/Awesome YouTube Video (At least one)
Funny/Awesome Image (At least one)
Brief Abstract Poem Concerning Random Topic
Quote of the Week
And this ensures that most of the things you love in what used to be my daily posts can be delivered in one big, fat, easy-to-find, easy-to-write package.
So, tune in this Thursday and every Thursday after for a new, awesome posting! (I swear on my life that I'll regularly post weekly unless it's a dire emergency or I'm getting laid.)
And now, for some entertainment, NYAN CAT!
This concludes the brief ultimatum regarding the change in format of The Mindless Ramblings of the Nerd. I hope to see you on Thursday for a new, exciting posting!

The Nerd endures Hell with help from...everything that is not Hell.
Hello, my friends and readers. Last you heard from me, I was about to undergo the Hell of IB Examinations. As of now, I've completed 2/3 of the exams I'm set to do, and have tested for a combined total of over 16 hours. And I've come to this conclusion: Aside from the exams themselves, life is pretty awesome right now. In my classes, we're not doing anything because the curriculum's been taught and now there's nothing left to do but socialize and sign yearbooks and the like. And yeah. Pretty much school has become a joke, and I, along with my fellow seniors, are counting the days until our last day of high school, the 25th of May.
But outside of school, life is just as awesome. Today I got my graduation gift in the form of an acoustic/electric bass guitar so I'll be able to continue to play in college, where amplifiers are not allowed. ALSO, THE SONG "SLOW CHEETAH" BY THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS REFUSES TO GET OUT OF MY HEAD, AND IT IS AWESOME.
...I'm bored.
Anyway, things with my girl are amazing, and we've almost reached the end of the threshold that most teenagers don't cross that is the first month of our relationship.
Also, in a mere 6 days, I'm going to achieve one of my dreams and see one of my favorite bands ever live. That band, of course, is U2. And their opener is The Fray. So I'm checking two bands off of my "Bands to See Live Before I or They Die" list. AND IT SHALL BE THE STUFF OF LEGEND.
Also, if you haven't yet, GO SEE THOR. Because it's epic. And Anthony Hopkins is a god. And Chris Hemsworth is flawlessly cast. And it's one of the best damn comic book films I've ever seen, because it's directed by Kenneth Branagh. Also, if you have the cash to spare and you've already seen Thor, GO SEE PRIEST. It's not as good as Thor, and apparently has nothing to the graphic novel it was based on, but it's a damn entertaining movie, and Karl Urban steals the show as the antagonist. On the note of movies, DON'T GO SEE THE THIRD TRANSFORMERS MOVIE, BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE A PIECE OF SHIT THAT FURTHER EXEMPLIFIES HOW MICHAEL BAY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL IN THE WORLD OF FILMMAKING AND GIVES HOLLYWOOD A BAD NAME. <Rant over>
In short, everything is wonderful, aside from evil tests which are almost done.
And now, here's a quote for the week.
"If at first you don't succeed, you fail." ~GLaDOS

Abandon all hope, Nerds who enter here.
So, some of you may know I am a proud student of the International Baccalaureate Program. I use the term "proud" lightly, mainly because I'm enduring the hell of college-level courses, shit tons of homework and garbage like that...but that's not even the worst. At the end of the four year program (now), I'm in the midst of taking examinations that determine whether or not I get rewarded with the IB Diploma after all of this effort. SO, if I fail the tests, four years of extra work will all have been for nothing more than the same high school diploma as the people who wasted four years making shoebox dioramas and baking soda volcanoes and elementary school-level things which should not be condoned in a high school curriculum but is anyway.
ANYWAY, I'm stressing out.
But enough about that crap. To celebrate, I had my first of these hellish exams today (English Paper I (of II)) and am confident that I aced it big time. I know the worst is yet to come, but to hell with it! I'm celebrating anyway!
BUT! Enough talk of IB and such. We've other business to tend to.
In Acting today, we continued work on our final monologues, and I think I made some genuine progress with my character and motion and reformatting of the monologue I've written. During off, I went and had lunch and then proceeded to just hang in the band room (and I had a brief stint on drums, which ended in my band teacher jokingly threatening to administer a headlock and promptly complementing my ability to keep time). And in math, considering our exams for said class are tomorrow and the day after, we're starting our collective relaxing until the end of the year, complete with a lack of assignments and curriculum. Good stuff, indeed.
ROMANCE PARAGRAPH. BLAH BLAH BLAH.
My girlfriend and I are doing awesomely, and I'm glad to say that things aside from IB and school have been very, very awesome. She and I really click, since we're both dementedly nerdy and not afraid to show it, and over the weekend we took part in a midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and a celebration of National Wear Cosplay to Starbucks Day. Yep. She's pretty much perfect.
And now we reach today's activity...
COOL PICTURE TUESDAY! (Oh baby, oh baby...)
Today's images come from my favorite source of pictures on the internet: My friend's filtered collection of pictures from the evil, evil place we know as 4Chan.
The first one is Portal-related. Because it is still consuming my life. Inevitably, I inadvertently found out how Portal 2 ends before finishing the game. But good God, now I can't wait to play it and do it myself, because it sounds goddamn epic. So here's a picture of a corrupted Personality Core.
The next image features a great quote from one of my heroes, Mr. Alfred Hitchcock. And face it. That's one intimidating picture of a gun pointed right at your face.
And in case you care, here's an old picture of me in a steampunk-y outfit similar to the one I wore to National Wear Cosplay to Starbucks Day.
And just for the hell of it, here's Deadpool.
Anyhow, this is becoming a disorganized mess, so I'm going to stop this post before it gets out of control.

26 April 2011
It's late in the evening. But the Nerd doesn't care at all.
Good evening, my beloved readers! It's kind of late, and if I have any readers on Eastern Standard Time (probably not...), it's already Wednesday. But right here, it's very late on this lovely Tuesday night. And, being bored and not having school tomorrow (Juniors have to take their ACTs...ha ha), I thought I might share a short and concise little post with you for Tuesday.
In Biology, we're anxiously preparing for our IB examinations by taking review quizzes. Today's was on Human Physiology, and I did pretty well. Not a bad class at all. In Acting, we were assigned our final exam: Writing and performing a monologue written by us putting our past experiences in the monologue. My current idea involves setting moments of my life to lyrics from Bob Dylan's "The Times, They Are A-Changin'", a personal favorite song of mine with a great deal of emotional input in it. In my off-block, I went to Atlanta Bread and had a bread bowl full of tomato soup...yum. And in Math, we're also getting ready for IB exams by doing actual IB exams from the past years.
After school, I went to a rehearsal for my latest theatrical endeavor: Lakewood High School's annual series of One Acts, which are quite literally one act plays that are student directed and operated. The One Act I'm involved in is entitled Dinner With the MacGuffins, and is basically a giant nod to Alfred Hitchcock involving the 4th Wall vanishing from one character's perspective. It's a great deal of fun looking at that character and treating him like he's a psycho.
ROMANCE PARAGRAPH. Blah blah blah.
Not a whole lot to report. I'm still dementedly happy. She's fantastic and awesome and beautiful and happy. And that's all that matters. (God, this is a short romance paragraph...)
And now we reach the daily ritual! And it's...
COOL PICTURE TUESDAY! (the cake is a lie...)
So, Portal 2 is still consuming my life. But God, that game is fantastic. Seriously. If you even remotely liked the first one, you're gonna be floored by how expansive the sequel is, and you're going to love all of the new, awesome things you get to play around with in the game. Today's picture is obviously related to Portal, in case you could not tell. And I think it's amusing. And a very nice usage of Photoshop.
