27 January 2011

So...it's really late.

Wow...

I just got home from a pretty epic field trip where we saw a preview performance of the Denver Center Theater Company's rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and, repeating what I just said...

Wow. If you're in the Denver area, I wholeheartedly recommend their portrayal of my favorite comedy by the Bard. The set was great, the costumes were great, the actors were fantastic (the gentlemen playing Lysander, Oberon, Bottom and Puck were my favorites), the slapstick humor was great, and all and all, it was a fabulous production. Seriously. Go check it out. Stage Theatre. Denver Performing Arts Complex. You'll love it. Yes, even you...

So that was a fun part of the day, as was rehearsal, as was English, where we continued to read Waiting for Godot. Hell, I even had a bit of fun in Band, because I love to play music.

Spanish and History? Well, History was alright. We read Dr. Seuss' The Butter Battle Book, obvious parallels to the Cold War and all, then I'm pretty sure I kind of sucked on my quiz. Spanish, however, was another story. We had oral examinations today, where we were meant to talk about what we did over the past weekend. I had written it all out, I had read it and had it memorized. But when I went up there, a very peculiar and evil thing happened. I was sailing smoothly until about 2 minutes in, when I completely crashed. I couldn't remember how to say words. I spent seconds of silence, which passed by like little eternities. I rushed through the remains of my speech, and got lectured for my unpreparedness, even though I had practiced for some time. Spanish: The bane of my existence...ah well. Win some, lose some.

WARNING: YOU HAVE REACHED THE ROMANCE PARAGRAPH. IF YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE LOVE LIFE OF THE NERD, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SKIP AHEAD.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Not much to report today. She's still away in the mountains, and I haven't seen her all week. Regardless, she remains on my mind a great deal, and quite honestly, I now have no doubt whatsoever that I have some form of feelings for her. Mind you, I'm aware I have more odds of becoming an NFL Rookie, having the team stupid enough to pick me go to the Super Bowl, and being dubbed the MVP. Obviously, the odds are pretty much 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,009:1. But so long as I keep my hopes high, I may very well succeed...maybe.

ANYHOW, today, much like every day, there's something special to do, and today is...

COOL NERD PRODUCT THURSDAY! [buy stuff! yay!]

Today's product can be found on...well, I don't know where in the name of God you can find this, but if I was a little kid and if I were as obsessed with Doctor Who as I am now...yeah. I'd so fork over 199 pounds for one. Take a look at the promotional video below, and you'll see why.

That's right, folks! Now your own children can pretend to be the hateful, evil killing machines that have been relentlessly trying to destroy the entire human populus since 1963!

Teach your kids that exterminating their fellow man is perfectly alright!

They'll soon be just like the infamous creations of Davros, the Nazis of the Universe, the Daleks!

And it'll only cost you about $320! Yay!

On that hilarious note, I bid you all a lovely evening.

This concludes the posting of The Mindless Ramblings of the Nerd for 27 January 2010. I hope to see you tomorrow for another exciting installment! (Hopefully earlier in the night...)
